VIII Airport Sector Meeting, held by ITAérea Argentina in Buenos Aires

News - VIII Sector Meeting

On October 3 and 4, 2022, ITAérea Argentina participated in the VIII Airport Sector Meeting held at the Hilton hotel in Buenos Aires. The conference was attended by more than 500 general directors of airports from around the world, who had the opportunity to share their ideas, experiences and vision on strategic issues for the airport sector.

The importance of this meeting required the collaboration of prestigious institutions such as Airports Council International in the Latin American Region (ACI LAC). For this reason, the occasion was used to convene their Board of Directors and hold the General Assembly on which the strategy for the following years is designed.

In this meeting, we invited different General Directors of airports in the region to share their ideas, experiences and vision on strategic issues for the airport sector. This year the panel will address topics such as:

  • Sustainable tourism: challenges and opportunities after COVID.
  • Challenging conventional airport economic regulation.
  • Preparation for a future with zero net emissions.
  • Integration of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM – eVTOL) at aerodromes.
  • Optimizing airport operations with technology.
  • Improving the efficiency of airports with digitization.
  • Electric aviation opportunities – roadmap for implementation.

In the round table of the meeting we had the participation of Mr. José Ignacio Escudero, General Director of ITAérea, as well as important personalities, directors and airport managers of the region, who discussed strategic issues for airport management:

After more than a decade as part of the aeronautical sector, ITAEREA Aeronautical Business School has managed to train 100% of airport managers in Latin America. Its international implantation was the initial objective of the School. Today he not only provides training in Europe but also in Africa and Asia.

Sectoral meetings such as this one are proof of it, as sector managers from all continents attended these two days.
