On June 26-28, 2023, ITAérea Barcelona participated in the IX Airport Sector Meeting held at the Palau de Congressos in Barcelona. The conferences were attended by more than 700 general managers of airports around the world, who had the opportunity to share their ideas, experiences and vision on strategic issues for the airport sector.
The event was organized by Airports Council International (ACI WORLD) together with its European region (ACI EUROPE) and, as it could not be otherwise, being held in Barcelona, the host was the airport manager AENA.
The occasion was used to celebrate their Board of Directors and hold the Annual General Assembly, on which the strategy for the following years is designed.
In this meeting we invite different CEOs of airports to share their ideas, experiences and vision on strategic issues for the airport sector. This year the panel addressed topics such as:
- The state of the industry.
- Can the industry really work together?
- Ukrainian airports: one year later.
- Presentation of the World Economic Forum: Airports of Tomorrow (WEF).
- Not if, but when? Decarbonization: the global timeline
- Recovery, resilience and sustainability of aviation, the EUROCONTROL strategy.
- The infrastructure revolution: Airport Cities, Vertiports, Enerports.
- CX through the lens of sustainability.
- The Future Airports Vision, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- It runs on the people: future-proofing the global workforce.
Among the attendees we can highlight those mentioned below. All of them discussed strategic issues on airport management:

This sectoral meeting also had the participation of a several companies from the sector such as ALG, HAS, MERA, ARCONAS, COLLINS AEROSPACE, EXOLUM, INTERVISTAS, NACO, DUFRY, SITA, etc.
After more than a decade as part of the aeronautical sector, ITAérea Aeronautical Business School has trained 100% of the airport managers in Latin America. Its international implantation was the initial objective of the School. Today we not only provide training in Europe but also in Africa and Asia. Many teachers, students and clients meet at events like this.
Sectoral meetings such as this one are good proof of this, since managers of the sector from all continents have attended during these two days.
