On 21 July 2026, Sustainable Aviation published its updated Decarbonisation Road-Map, outlining potential pathways for UK aviation to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The roadmap combines technological innovation, operational improvements, lower-carbon fuels and greenhouse gas removals. Delivery depends on investment, policy support and collaboration between industry and government.
For aviation professionals, this raises a practical question: how can long-term environmental goals be translated into operational and business decisions today?
Assessing investments, planning infrastructure and coordinating stakeholders all require an understanding of how sustainability connects with aviation management.
ITAérea’s Master in Sustainable Air Transport Management (MATSM), delivered jointly with UNITAR, brings together sustainability, operations, infrastructure and business management to support professionals developing this perspective.
