News
On October 6, 2025, ITAérea Aeronautical Business School participated in the World Aviation Forum (WAF) held in Lisbon, Portugal, reaffirming its commitment to building synergies and alliances with industry stakeholders to drive growth and develop new training pathways for the leaders of the future.
As part of this effort, Jaime Brea, Director of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at ITAérea, took part in the panel “Workforce, Training & Digital Transformation: From retention challenges to upskilling, how do we sustain a resilient workforce for ground handling?”. The session was moderated by Luis Felipe de Oliveira, CEO of Exactly Consulting and Services and former Director General of ACI World, who guided the discussion on the future of workforce development in the aviation sector.
During his intervention, Brea emphasized three key aspects: the need to give greater career visibility to ground handling roles, the importance of adopting new technologies such as AI and VR to empower workers rather than replace them, and the value of flexible, accessible training formats to boost retention in regions with fewer resources.
He concluded by stressing that investing in ground handling staff is not just about workforce management, but about improving the passenger experience and strengthening the resilience of the entire airport system.
