Ms. María José Cuenda, Commercial and Real Estate General Director of Aena, delivers a special lecture at ITAérea Madrid
News
AENA is currently the largest airport operator in the world, combining the number of airports it manages directly with its stakes in airport management companies worldwide. The company manages 46 airports and 2 heliports in Spain and holds direct and indirect stakes in the management of another 32 airports in Europe and the Americas, including London Luton Airport, in which it owns 51% of the capital.
It is worth noting that AENA continues to increase its revenues year after year. This demonstrates not only the strong growth of the airport sector and the confidence of markets and travelers, but also the high capacity of the airport operator to consolidate and exponentially grow its business. This achievement will be addressed in the master’s program by the team led by Ms. María José Cuenda.
Speaking about AENA, and in particular about the Commercial and Real Estate General Directorate, requires an understanding of current traffic data, passenger volumes, future projects, and more. There is no one better than its General Director, Ms. María José Cuenda, to speak on these matters.
Ms. Cuenda, who has collaborated with ITAérea since 2006, was introduced to the audience by Mr. José Ignacio Escudero, General Director of ITAérea, who highlighted the strong ties between the executive and ITAérea.
Several topics were addressed by Ms. Cuenda. After a brief introduction about the organization of AENA’s General Directorates, she analyzed issues such as AENA’s commercial activity and its evolution, commercial revenues, business areas under management, marketing, digital initiatives, and other ongoing projects currently being developed by the operator.
For ITAérea Business School, it was truly a privilege to host the Commercial and Real Estate General Director of AENA, along with many other AENA executives who collaborate regularly and occasionally with ITAérea.
At the end of the lecture, a Q&A session took place, where attendees had the opportunity to raise their questions to Ms. Cuenda, leading to an engaging high-level debate on the sector.
