The UN, through UNITAR and CIFAL Mérida, extends its collaboration with ITAérea for 4 years

On November 6, 2023, the signing of the agreement to expand the collaboration between ITAérea and UNITAR – CIFAL Mérida took place in Miami, both institutions linked to the School since 2013.

On behalf of CIFAL Mérida, Mr. Héctor Navarrete attended the event, while its General Director, José Ignacio Escudero, represented ITAérea.

In November 2017, gathered at the United Nations Palace, Geneva, ITAérea Aeronautical Business School, CIFAL Mérida (International Training Center for Authorities and Leaders) and UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research), was carried out the first of the signings of the trilateral agreement, whose objective has always been the development of comprehensive training in air transport that meets the sustainable development objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda.

However, already in 2013, ITAérea and CIFAL had signed a collaboration agreement in Cancun (Mexico) that in its first year alone resulted in the training of 1,808 managers of Latin American airports.

Subsequently, on May 16, 2018, the signing of the extension of the collaboration agreement signed in Geneva between ITAérea Aeronautical Business School, UNITAR and CIFAL Mérida took place at the ITAérea Madrid headquarters.

10 years after that historic year 2013, the alliance between these institutions is renewed. Through this agreement, the 30 CIFAL centers located around the world will have access to the training offered by ITAérea, standardizing capabilities and promoting the sustainable growth of the air transport industry for the benefit of all the sectors involved in it.
