The Master in Sustainable Air Transport Management MATSM is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and studies sustainable management in all sectors of air transport such as airports, airlines, handling, air cargo, air navigation, aviation industry and international air law.

The Master in Sustainable Air Transport Management MATSM taught jointly between ITAérea and the UN has students from all over the world who have already had the opportunity to learn from the hand of managers the most important real cases related to the sustainability of the aviation sector.

Thus, among others, these are some of the cases studied in this postgraduate:

  • “Airport planning in airports with less than 10 M passengers in South America”.
  • “Asset management and maintenance at UK airports”.
  • “Salvador Bahia Airport, the most sustainable airport in Brazil”.
  • “Environmental management at Juan Santamaría International Airport, San José, Costa Rica”.
  • “The efficiency of small airports in the Nordic countries”.
  • “The airports of the future”.
  • “Route planning, fleet management, organizational structure and sustainable aviation in the main airlines”.
  • “Sustainability of airspace and new concepts of air navigation”.
  • “Lean manufacturing of aircraft”.
  • “Electric and hybrid aircraft”.

It is clear that it is no longer acceptable to manage the planet without thinking about sustainability. A company that incorporates sustainable concepts and policies into its culture will be more competitive and more prepared for the challenges of the market, in addition to being less polluting, more efficient, and having a better image and reputation facing the real and current world and future generations.

Understanding air transport management from a holistic perspective and having the opportunity to delve into all its branches is very useful for professionals in the sector. Furthermore, professionals can correlate their activities and functions with sustainability, considering their benefits for the air transport business, improving efficiency and producing a better image, reputation and results for their companies.

This master is oriented to professionals who want to improve their knowledge of air transport and, especially, for those who want to make a significant positive impact in the world.
